Spidertracks is pleased to be supporting Flight of Solidarity. The Flight of Solidarity project has been designed to raise awareness and funds for Royal Flying Doctors Service. After a trip to China for an adjusted perspective on what is really like for those less fortunate, 17 year old Alex Fischer decided he wanted to use his passion for flying to benefit others starting in his own backyard.
The Royal Flying Doctors Service has been providing medical assistance to rural and remote Australians since 1928, and is the worlds most comprehensive aero medical organisation. With 61 aircraft, 21 bases, and 1,150 staff, the RFDS provides 24 hour medical assistance to over 270,000 people every year... that's one patient every two minutes!
Alex will be the youngest person to fly around Australia, and will be using the interest in this flight to drum up awareness and donations for RFDS around the country. On each stop Alex will be going to schools and youth groups to motivate a new generation of aviation enthusiasts to be involved organisations that offer support to people who need it.
