How did you become aware of Spidertracks, and when did you begin using us?

Word of mouth. We’ve been a Spidertracks customer for two years.

What was involved in your decision to become a Spidertracks customer?

Prior to Spidertracks, we only had an unreliable satellite phone for backup. We fly across a lot of Kenya without any mobile reception, and we also do a lot of high-altitude flying (often in bad weather). Spidertracks was therefore an absolute no-brainer.

What Spidertracks features and functionalities are the most important for your organisation, and why?

Each feature is as important as the next. We just hope we don’t have to use some of them!

What would you say are the biggest strengths of the Spidertracks system?

Reliability. Small and lightweight unit. Sensible. Easy to set up and use. Affordable.

What key issues for your business has Spidertracks helped with?

Spidertracks has greatly improved our safety by allowing us to know all flight details and where the plane is at all times. For some legs that we fly, there are two or three route options depending on winds, weather, etc. — and the chosen route can change whilst airborne. When to expect the plane is huge. Not having to communicate with the pilot to know that and just being able to look at the app is fantastic.

Have we helped you fly safer and smarter? If so, how?

Definitely. Knowing that family, friends, and staff can track us constantly and launch search and rescue within minutes is huge. Getting an S+R operation active in minutes may mean the difference between life and death.

Anything else you’d like us to know? We’d love to hear it!

Spidertracks is an absolutely brilliant product that every pilot should have.
